Religious Education Update

We pray that you and your family are enjoying the bounty of God’s creation this summer filled with joyful moments of peace and play!

Just a reminder that this is the last week for returning families (those who were enrolled in classes at St. Augustine this past year) to RE-REGISTER their children for faith formation. The Archdiocese requires students seeking the celebration of Sacraments to be enrolled in faith formation classes for at least two consecutive years. Once our office closes at the end of this month, we will assume that you have chosen to not re-enroll your children in our program, and your child’s seat in class will be given to those on the waitlist.
Please contact the RE Office this week during our summer hours: Tuesday and Thursday, 11AM-4PM, and Wednesday, 1PM - 6PM to confirm your registration.

The Religious Education office will be closed during the month of July for maintenance and will reopen on Monday, August 7. We will be responding to email and voicemail periodically during this time, so please contact us at [email protected] or call 708.388.4040 and we will get back to you as soon as we are able.

Catechists Needed!
We are still in need of a few more disciples willing to lead Jr. High and High School Confirmation level classes on Tuesday evenings August through April. Classes are taught in English using bilingual materials. Curriculum and lesson plans are provided. Minimal prep is needed. Orientation/training for volunteers will take place during the month of August. If you would like more information on being a catechist, please call the R.E. Office as soon as possible to begin the process. Thank you!

Solo un recordatorio de que esta es la última semana para que las familias que regresan (aquellas que se inscribieron en clases en San Agustín el año pasado) vuelvan a INSCRIBIR a sus hijos para la formación en la fe. La Arquidiócesis requiere que los estudiantes que buscan la celebración de los Sacramentos estén inscritos al menos dos años consecutivos. Una vez que nuestra oficina cierre a fines de este mes, asumiremos que ha elegido no volver a inscribir a sus hijos en nuestro programa, y el espacio de su hijo se le ofrecerá a los que están en la lista de espera. Comuníquese con la oficina de Ed. Religiosa esta semana: martes y jueves, de 11:00 am a 4:00 pm, y miércoles de 1PM a 6PM para confirmar su registro.

La oficina de Educación Religiosa estará cerrada durante el mes de julio por mantenimiento y reabrirá el lunes 7 de agosto.

Todavía necesitamos algunos discípulos más que estén dispuestos a dirigir clases de nivel de confirmación de High School los martes por la noche de agosto a abril. Las clases se imparten en inglés utilizando materiales bilingües. Se proporcionan planes de estudios y lecciones. Se necesita una preparación mínima. La orientación/capacitación para voluntarios se llevará a cabo durante el mes de agosto. Si desea obtener más información sobre cómo ser catequista, llame a la Oficina de Ed.
