Fr. Robinson's Message 10/2/22

October 2, 2022Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The Unification Team met on Thursday, September 22 to review the suggested names for the new parish. We counted more than 90 names, of which the majority were repeated names of current parishes in the Archdiocese. Some other names passed that first level of selection and for more than three hours we reflected and tried to discern the connection of those names with our community. We decided to give ourselves a few days to pray and reflect on the suggested names. We met again on Monday, September 26, and finally sent a list of likely names to the Renew My Church team for review. It is very likely that in next weekend's bulletin we will publish the viable names so that the community can discern and express their support in an in-church survey mid-October. Thank you for your prayers during this process. I especially thank the Unification Committee for the hard and conscientious work they have been doing.
I want to express my gratitude to the parishioners who led the organization of the reception for Phil & Amy a week ago. Thank you to Donna Schmidt and Eunice Enk for their leadership, and to everyone who contributed in one way or another to this celebration full of emotions and a grateful spirit.
Please note some events that will occur this week: I will be at the area priests' meeting like every first Monday of the month. We meet to see how our parishes are doing and what support we can offer each other. Also, I invite you to attend bingo. It takes place every Monday in the school gym. The proceeds are used for the general expenses of the parish. If you want to volunteer, please let me know. Two other meetings this week: a meeting to prepare for the celebration of the Virgin of Guadalupe will take place on Monday, October 3 at 7 pm in Unit D. In addition, the meeting to prepare for next year's Fiesta will be on Thursday, October 6 at 7:15 pm in the same place. I invite you to participate in these preparatory meetings as the community becomes more and more integrated.
Finally, this Wednesday, October 5, we will begin the sessions of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults RCIA. All those who want to become Catholic or baptized adults who have not yet made their First Communion or Confirmation, can register at the Parish office. Sessions will be on Wednesdays from 6:30-8 PM, starting this week.
And I wish you all have a good week. Let us walk hand in hand with Mary this month of October, which has just begun.

El Comité de Unificación se reunió el jueves 22 de septiembre para revisar los nombres sugeridos para la nueva parroquia. Contabilizamos más de 90 nombres, de los cuales la mayoría eran nombres repetidos de parroquias actuales en la Arquidiócesis. Algunos otros nombres pasaron ese primer nivel de selección y por más de tres horas reflexionamos y tratamos de discernir la conexión de esos nombres con nuestra comunidad. Decidimos darnos unos días para orar y reflexionar en los nombres sugeridos. Nos reunimos nuevamente el lunes 26 de septiembre y finalmente enviamos un alista de nombres probables al equipo de Renueva Mi Iglesia para que sean revisados y le den el visto bueno de viabilidad. Es muy probable que en el boletín del siguiente fin de semana publiquemos los nombres viables para que la comunidad pueda discernir y expresar su apoyo a mediados de octubre. Gracias por sus oraciones durante este proceso. Le agradezco especialmente al Comité de Unificación por el arduo y concienzudo trabajo que han venido realizando.
Quiero expresar mi gratitud a las parroquianas que lideraron la organización de la recepción para Phil & Amy hace una semana. Gracias a Donna Schmidt y Eunice Enk por su liderazgo, y a todos quienes contribuyeron de una u otra forma para esta celebración tan llena de emociones y agradecimiento.
Por favor tengan en cuenta algunos eventos que ocurrirán esta semana: Estaré en la junta de los sacerdotes del área como todos los primeros lunes de mes. Nos reunimos para ver cómo va nuestras parroquias y qué apoyo podemos ofrecernos los unos a los otros. Por otro lado, los invito para que asistan al bingo que tiene lugar cada lunes en el gimnasio de la escuela. Las ganancias se usan para los gastos generales de la parroquia. Si quiere ser voluntario, por favor déjeme saber. Otras dos juntas esta semana: reunión para preparar la celebración de la Virgen de Guadalupe el lunes 3 de octubre a las 7 pm en Unidad D Puerta 210. También, la junta para preparar la Fiesta de julio del próximo año será el jueves 6 de octubre a las 7:15 pm en el mismo lugar. Los invito para que participen de estas juntas preparatorias y la comunidad se integre cada vez más.
Finalmente, este miércoles 5 de octubre comenzaremos las sesiones del Rito de Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos RICA. Todas aquellas personas que quieran ser católicas o aquellos mayores de edad que aún no han hecho la Primera Comunión o Confirmación, pueden registrarse en la oficina. Las sesiones serán los miércoles de 6:30 a 8 PM, comenzando esta semana.
Y a todos les deseo que tengan una buena semana. Caminemos de mano de María este mes de octubre que acaba de comenzar.
