Fr. Robinson's Installation Mass as Pastor

What is an Installation Mass?
It is an official rite in the Catholic Church by which the bishop presents to the parishioners the new Pastor. The whole Christian community is a living expression of the Church:  Bishops, Priests, Deacons, and Laity, who together form the People of God, gathered around the Table of the Word and the Table of Eucharist, united by Jesus Christ, in the Holy Spirit, with the Heavenly Father. The new pastor is placed at the service of this portion of the People of God.

Who presides at the Installation Mass?
In this case, Bishop Andrew Wypych, vicar of Vicariate 5, and Cardinal Cupich's representative, will be the main presider.

Who attends the Installation Mass?
All parishioners are invited, including members of the Parish and School staff, and the different ministries and organizations. Some other priests are also invited to welcome the new pastor.

What happens at the Installation Mass?
The bishop introduces the new pastor to the community; the pastor pronounces his profession of faith by reciting the Creed and believe in all the teachings of the Church; some signs of ministry are presented to the new pastor, including the book of the Scriptures, the Roman Missal, the Oil of the Sick, the baptismal candle, and the collection basket; and the new pastor signs the Oath of Forms.

Is there a reception for the new Pastor?
A reception will take place in the School's gym after Mass.

¿Qué es una Misa de Instalación?
Es un rito oficial en la Iglesia Católica por el cual el obispo presenta el nuevo Párroco a los feligreses. Toda la comunidad cristiana es expresión viva de la Iglesia: obispos, presbíteros, diáconos y laicos,  juntos forman el Pueblo de Dios, reunidos en torno a la Mesa de la Palabra y la Mesa de la Eucaristía, unidos por Jesucristo, en el Santo Espíritu, con el Padre Celestial. El nuevo pastor se pone al servicio de esta porción del Pueblo de Dios.

¿Quién preside la Misa de Instalación?
En este caso, el Obispo Andrew Wypych, vicario del Vicariato 5 y representante del Cardenal Cupich, será el celebrante principal.

¿Quién asiste a la Misa de Instalación?
Todos los feligreses están invitados, incluidos los miembros del personal de la parroquia y la escuela, y los diferentes ministerios y organizaciones. También se invita a otros sacerdotes a dar la bienvenida al nuevo párroco.

¿Qué sucede durante la Misa de Instalación?
El obispo presenta el nuevo pastor a la comunidad; el pastor pronuncia su profesión de fe recitando el Credo y fidelidad a todas las enseñanzas de la Iglesia; se presentan algunos signos de ministerio al nuevo pastor, incluyendo el libro de las Escrituras, el Misal Romano, el Óleo de los Enfermos, el cirio bautismal y la canasta de la colecta; y el nuevo párroco firma el Juramento de Formas.

¿Hay una recepción para el nuevo Pastor?
Habrá una recepción en el gimnasio de la Escuela después de la Misa.
