Fr. Robinson&#039;s Message 8/13/23

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Starting September 10, we will have a new Sunday Mass at 6 PM. This Mass will be bilingual and initially only during the school season from September to May. It is a great sign to be able to add a new Mass as we continue to grow as a parish community. For this new liturgical celebration, it is important that we have enough ministers. I hope that our parishioners who will be attending this Mass will be able to join us as liturgical ministers: ushers, lectors, altar servers, sacristans, Eucharistic ministers, and choir members. During the new Mass at 6 pm we will carry out several of the celebrations that the Religious Education program has during the year. For example, the Opening Mass will be on Sunday, September 10 at 6 pm, likewise the following week we will celebrate Catechetical Sunday at all Masses, but with a special blessing for catechists and teachers at 6 PM. When this new Mass schedule begins, there will also be an opportunity for students in 8th grade through high school to come together in the youth ministry we are going to create in our parish. I thank all of you who have come forward to support the beginning of this new Mass and the formation of the youth ministry.

I would also like to thank our parishioners who attended the Religious Education meeting this past Tuesday. We saw catechists, classroom helpers, hall monitors, parking lot monitors, and other volunteers. I can see the great commitment that you have with the faith formation of our children and young people. Thank you for saying yes to the call that the Church makes to you. God bless you and your families. There is still time to join us and help in any of these areas so that we can offer a good education in the faith to these more than 339 students.

St. Christopher School is also finalizing details for the start of the school year. I welcome all the teachers who will be meeting this Thursday and Friday for your planning sessions. The Lord bless you. We will have an open house next Sunday. Please see page 4 for details.

As I have been doing in the past weeks, I want to invite all young adults between the ages of 18 and 30 to join me for a gathering on Sunday, August 13 at 6 pm in Unit D, door 210. I would like to hear from you and know how we can walk together and what spaces are needed in our community for your faith to be strengthened. Finally, I look forward to seeing all of you this Tuesday, August 15, to celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of our Blessed Mother, a Holy Day of obligation. We will have two bilingual Masses at 8:30 AM and 7 PM.

Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas,

A partir del próximo 10 de septiembre vamos a tener una nueva Misa dominical a las 6 PM. Esta Misa será bilingüe e inicialmente solo durante la temporada escolar de septiembre a mayo. Es un gran signo el poder agregar una nueva Misa ya que seguimos creciendo como comunidad parroquial. Para la realización de esta nueva eucaristía es importante que tengamos los ministros adecuados para su desarrollo. Espero que nuestros parroquianos que van a asistir a esta Misa puedan vincularse como ministros litúrgicos: ujieres, lectores, monaguillos, sacristanes, ministros de la eucaristía, y miembros del coro. Durante la nueva Misa de las 6 pm llevaremos a cabo varias de las celebraciones que el programa de Educación Religiosa tiene durante el año. Por ejemplo, la Misa de Bienvenida será el domingo 10 de septiembre a las 6 pm, igualmente la siguiente semana celebraremos el domingo catequético en todas las Misas, pero con bendición de catequistas y maestros a las 6 PM. Cuando este nuevo horario de Misa comience, también habrá la oportunidad para que los jóvenes que están en grado octavo y en high school se reúnan en el ministerio de jóvenes que vamos a crear en nuestra parroquia. Agradezco a todos ustedes que se han acercado para apoyar el comienzo de esta nueva Misa y la formación del grupo juvenil de adolescentes.

Quisiera agradecer también a nuestros parroquianos que asistieron a la junta de la Educación Religiosa el pasado martes. Vimos catequistas, ayudantes de los salones de clase, monitores del pasillo, monitores del estacionamiento, y otros voluntarios. Puedo ver el gran compromiso que tienen ustedes con la formación en la fe de nuestros niños y jóvenes. Gracias por decir sí al llamado que la Iglesia les hace. Dios los bendiga a ustedes y a sus familias. Todavía hay tiempo para vincularse y ayudar en alguna de estas áreas de modo que podamos ofrecer una buena educación en la fe a estos más de 339 estudiantes.

También la Escuela de San Christopher está ultimando detalles para el comienzo del año escolar. Le doy la bienvenida a todos los maestros que se reunirán este jueves y viernes para sus sesiones de planeación. El Señor los bendiga.

Reitero mi invitación a todos los jóvenes adultos de entre 18 y 30 años, para que se reúnan conmigo el domingo 13 de agosto a las 6 pm en Unit D, puerta 210. Quisiera escucharlos y saber cómo podemos caminar juntos y qué espacios son necesarios en nuestra comunidad para que su fe se fortalezca. Finalmente, los espero a todos ustedes este martes 15 de agosto para celebrar la Solemnidad de la Asunción de María al Cielo, una fiesta de guardar. Tendremos dos Misas bilingües a las 8:30 AM y 7 PM.
