Fr. Robinson&#039;s Message 4/30/23

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Our parish is being blessed with the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation for 91 young people, including students from the school, the religious education program, and SPRED. Bishop Joseph N. Perry, episcopal vicar of Vicariate 6 of the Archdiocese, presided over this celebration on Saturday, April 29.

I want to congratulate these young people on receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit once more. This sacrament further commits them to their faith. It is not a graduation or completion of the faith process, but rather the confirmation of their faith and commitment to Christ in continuing to build his Church in this community of faith. I encourage all of you to pray that these young people will be strengthened in their faith. I invite parents to see that commitment as a family. We cannot leave young people alone on this path of faith, but rather we must all encourage them and set the best example so that they can head towards Christ, who is the source and ultimate end of our existence.

Next Saturday May 6th we will have the first Holy Communion Masses. There will be 96 boys and girls who will receive Jesus Christ, Bread of Life. Let us pray for them and their families so that their hearts will vibrate with emotion and joy when they receive the Eucharist.

I am especially grateful to the catechists of these children and young people. Thanks to these parishioners of ours, faith formation can continue. Thank you for your teachings, your time, availability, and joy. Thanks to Brenna Baker, Religious Education Coordinator, for her leadership in this great endeavor. Together we have been able to have a great year of formation and we will continue to take care of every detail so that more families are encouraged to grow in faith in our parish.

I encourage all parishioners to pray in a special way for the young people who are going to be confirmed. You can see their names on the cover of the bulletin. You know very well that they need our prayers and support. We know about the current situation of youth and faith. So many pressures for those who truly want to lead a Christian life. Let us pray for them, let us not leave them alone, set a good example, and encourage them so that they find their vocation of Christian life to which God is calling them.

Have a great Good Shepherd Sunday and World Day of Prayer for Vocations. Let us not get tired of asking the Lord to continue sending workers to his harvest!

Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas,

Nuestra parroquia se alegra con la celebración del Sacramento de la Confirmación de 91 jóvenes, incluyendo estudiantes de la escuela, el programa de educación religiosa y SPRED. El Obispo Joseph N. Perry, vicario episcopal del Vicariato 6 de la Arquidiócesis, ha presidido esta celebración el sábado 29 de abril.

Quiero felicitar a estos jóvenes al recibir una vez el don del Espíritu Santo. Este sacramento los compromete aún más en su fe. No se trata de una graduación o terminación del proceso de fe, sino que es la confirmación de su fe y de su compromiso con Cristo en seguir edificando su Iglesia en esta comunidad de fe. Los animo a todos a orar para que estos jóvenes sean fortalecidos en su fe. Invito a los padres de familia a ver ese compromiso de manera familiar. No podemos dejar a los jóvenes solos en este camino de fe, sino que todos debemos animarlos y dar el mejor ejemplo para que ellos se encaminen hacia Cristo, quien es la fuente y el fin de último de nuestra existencia.

El próximo sábado 6 de mayo tendremos las primeras comuniones. Serán 96 niños y niñas quienes recibirán a Jesucristo, Pan de Vida. Oremos por ellos y sus familias desde ya para que su corazón vibre de emoción y alegría al recibir la Eucaristía.

Agradezco de manera especial a los catequistas de estos niños y jóvenes. Gracias a estos parroquianos nuestros, la formación en la fe puede continuar. Gracias por sus enseñanzas, su tiempo, disponibilidad, y alegría. Gracias a Brenna Baker, coordinadora de Educación Religiosa, por su liderazgo en esta gran tarea. Entre todos hemos podido tener un gran año de formación y seguiremos cuidando cada detalle para que más familias se animen a crecer en la fe en nuestra parroquia.

A todos los parroquianos los animo para que oren de manera especial por los jóvenes que van a ser confirmados. Ustedes pueden ver sus nombres en la portada del boletín. Ustedes saben muy bien que ellos necesitan de nuestras oraciones y apoyo. Sabemos de la situación actual de los jóvenes y la fe. Tantas presiones para aquellos que verdaderamente quieren llevar una vida cristiana. Oremos por ellos, no los dejemos solos, demos buen ejemplo, y animémoslos para que encuentren su vocación de vida cristiana a la que Dios los está llamando.

Feliz Domingo del Buen Pastor y de Oración por las Vocaciones. ¡No nos cansemos de pedir al Señor que siga enviando obreros a su mies!
